In actual practice there are two methods of laying colored coating – «hot» and «cold». The first one where colorless binder was used is discussed in detail here; the second one is given below.
Product Description
As an alternative to «hot» method there exists «cold» method. The main idea of this method is to cover an even, dust-free bitumen-concrete surface (sandstone is preferable) or cement concrete surface with a very thin layer of specially prepared mix 1.5 mm thick.
Mix Composition:
colored quartz sands, polymeric hot-melt adhesive, coloring high-temperature pigments of necessary shades.
The work should be carried out at the temperature not lower than 0°С when the weather is dry!
All types of work are conducted manually by our specialists without any involvement of external asphalt concrete plants.
The advantages of using “cold method”:
– a wider temperature range of use as compared to conventional methods of coating laying;
– no need to involve asphalt concrete plants, special-purpose machinery (asphalt-spreaders, road rollers), as the work can be carried out by two men;
– cost savings in materials by means of using a much thinner layer of coating as compared to other methods;
– durable design pictures on the surface.
Variants of coloring agents:
Any colors from white to dark are available. It is possible to mix different colors simultaneously.
Batch and laydown temperature: not lower than 0°С.
Special aspects of laying:
To gain a more aesthetic final effect the surface of laying should be even and smooth (the variants with sand or cement concrete coating look better).
