Product Description
The described bitumen additive is the end-product of amines, fatty acids and organic additives (solvents) synthesis. It is manufactured according to technical specifications 2416-036-17423242-2010.
Intended Purposes
It enhances the internal cohesion of road bitumen with mineral filling compound, improving the properties of bitumen-concrete mix when laying asphalt. It also increases transportation shoulder from bitumen concrete plant to the place of asphalt laying, enforcing waterproofing quality. Our bitumen additive serves as an anti-oxidizing agent in case of long-term storage of bitumen.
Advantages
The adhesive additive is a moving floating liquid suitable both for boiler feeding and water-supply line feeding. The additive operative temperature range of external environment is +5°С. The additive is known to be used at even lower temperatures, for this purpose ring heaters for containers can be used.
Price of the Adhesive Additive
A slight rise in the price of mix, which constitutes about 0.5 % (re-calculated per ton), makes it possible not only to obtain the necessary adhesion degree but also to balance such factors as ultimate stress limit, resistance to water, water saturation, shear resistance, and others.
Feeding
Adhesive Additive Koltek BN-1401 is fed in amounts of 0.3% to bitumen weight, it can be fed into the boiler when pouring bitumen (for better mixing), or into the bitumen line with the help of a special batcher.
The dosage of the adhesive additive to bitumen can vary in accordance with broken-stone ballast and bitumen from 0.15 % до 0.45%, but for the most part it is 0.3%.
Composition and Properties
Format – liquid, from light- to dark-brown color.
Density – 0.93-1.17 g/cm3.
Solidification point – not lower than 10°С.
рН index of 1% water solution – not less than 7.8.
Additional Information
The adhesive additive belongs to the class of amine additives. You should bear in mind that when fed directly into the boiler the additive remains fully active at 160°С within 72 hours, after this the activity can go down.
Such pattern is characteristic of practically all additives of this class. Adhesive additives of amine class are limited in their activity by temperature and time, and that is why it is recommended to add them into bitumen line directly before feeding bitumen.
Packaging
200 kg barrels, or any other suitable container from the Customer (in this case a discount is provided).
Storage
The adhesive additive should be stored at positive temperature from 0°С to 40°С. Storage time is 2 years from the date of manufacture.
Transportation
The additive BN-1401 is hazard class 3 substance, ordinary transportation is allowed.
